The Dawn of Food

Historically, people acquired food by hunting, gathering and agriculture.  Nowadays, food is supplied by the food industry.  Food is any substance consumed to provide essential nutrition for the body, usually coming from plants and animals which contain carbohydrates, fats, proteins, vitamins and minerals.

Many cultures have specific set of cooking traditions known as cuisine, using various spices or a combination of flavours unique to that culture which evolves over time. Each culture has a diverse way of preparing, cooking and manufacturing of their foods.  Certain tastes are more enjoyable than others.

Texture plays an important role in the enjoyment of eating foods.  Common examples include adding fruits to yogurt, toasting bread to enhance its crunchiness and spreading jam or butter for a smooth topping.

Another universal fact regarding food is the contrast in taste, such as having opposite flavours as sweetness and saltiness which tends to go well together.

Food preparation also plays an essential element for reason of safety, palatability, texture or to enhance the flavour and aesthetic appeal in the presentation.

While most of food preparation takes place in the home kitchen, accessibility to food can also be ordered and bought in restaurants, coffee shops or cafés.  Today, there are packaged foods being manufactures outside the home for purchase.  Advanced technologies have come to change how foods are being manufactured.

Well, that is quite simple really!
